  • Tony Slavin

    Teaching Pastor

I am deeply privileged and excited to be the new Pastor of Cornerstone Community Church. I have been married to Theresa for 10 years as of March 2017. We have 8 children (4 boys and 4 girls) from the ages of 22-37. We also currently have 8 grandchildren with the potential for many, many more. Theresa and I have a vibrant and strong marriage; we love doing ministry together. I can’t believe the gift that God has given me in her. My passions and gifts can be described in two categories. First, I love teaching/preaching; whether it be in the pulpit on Sundays, small groups, or in the classroom. I have a dialogical style where I try to include others as much as the format allows. The second passion I have is people; I love people -- that’s what the church is. Being in relationship with others is what the church is supposed to be, a community of Christ. I love to see people come to faith and have their lives radically changed. It is wonderful to see the power of God displayed in redeeming and sanctifying someone. Then I love to see them grow in their walk with the Lord and His people. I take the Apostle Paul’s heartfelt words in Colossians 1:28-29 as the driving conviction of what I have given my life to: We proclaim Christ, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me."  I had the privilege of serving at Grace Church Reno for 23 years. It had grown from about 300 people in 1994 to 2200 currently. It was a wonderful joy to be used by God in that journey. But I felt that my gifts and desires to see people become mature in Christ fit better with the smaller church family, so God led me to Cornerstone. I can’t wait to get to know each of you and together we will be used to honor and glorify God on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Email Tony

  • Jamie Fellows

    Youth Director

In 2012, I gave my life to Christ after an incredible and inspirational experience at a church in Reno, where my cousin was the youth pastor. To be honest, I only went because my cousin wanted me to, but after seeing everyone in the room so intrigued by the message my cousin was preaching, and hearing how God had changed his life, something changed in me. A week later, I gave my life to my Lord and Savior! I grew up in Southern California and I thank God for my beautiful wife, Erin, who I met in 1996 and married in 2000. God called us to move to beautiful Incline Village in 2012, where I am a painter by trade and also do snow removal in the winter. Incline is a great place to raise a family — we have two awesome children: Alyssa (16 years old), who attends Incline High School, and Jaime II (8 years old), who attends Incline Elementary School. I am VERY passionate about serving God and my church and teaching the kids in this community about life with Jesus. If I touch JUST one heart, I am filled. Email Jamie

  • Debra Ornelas

    Children's Director

I've been married to Mario for 16 years and am a mother of 3 sweethearts: Karolina 12, Emma 10 and Dario 5. I have had the privilege to serve in the ministry of Young Life in different capacities for the last 18 years in the SF Bay Area, Rio Grande Valley and our hometown San Antonio, TX. For the last 5 years I have homeschooled my kids through Classical Education. In 2015, My husband and I achieved our educational goals when we walked the stage together to receive our Bachelor’s degrees in Organizational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce. In 2015, we moved to beautiful and marvelous Lake Tahoe! During this season of my life, I am most excited about joining our committed leaders and teachers in helping our young children at Cornerstone and throughout the community shine for God’s honor and Glory. Our desire would be that they would grow confident in the Lord and embrace His Love as we partner with parents to help these kids become solid in their relationship with Jesus Christ. “It takes a Village!" • Shelia Leijon

    Worship Leader

Shelia Leijon began singing in church at the age of 6. The passion of singing praises to Him has been a constant in her life ever since. Shelia has been a member of Cornerstone and the Praise Team for over 15 years and is honored and humbled to be the Worship Leader. Shelia has been a resident of Lake Tahoe for over 30 years, is active in serving the senior adults in the community, and has been happily (and successfully!) married for 30 years. She is the proud mother of two fantastic children and one friendly, furry dog. When not singing, Shelia can be found running, biking, snowshoeing or hiking on the lovely North Shore of Lake Tahoe. • Matthew Campbell

    Church Administrator

Hello and thank you for stopping in to look at the amazing people I get to work with every day!! How can you not fall in love with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when you see how abundantly He is working in and fulfilling each of these people’s lives. I moved to the North Shore of Tahoe in 2002 and fell in love with its natural beauty, the people and the amazing weather we get to enjoy here all year long! I  have a degree in business administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio. I first came to the Lord when I was about 11 years old. My dream as a young boy was to be a pastor. Like so many of us, I fell away from my walk with Christ during my teens and young adult life only to be nudged many times by the Holy Spirit to come back to my Father, my Savior and my truest Friend, Jesus Christ. He is, after all, the only one, EVER, that will never stop listening to me, never stop loving me and never stop being there for me!! I love getting to do all the things that the church needs to get done to thrive within the community. Keeping the church on track, open and ready to serve the community at a moment’s notice is what it’s all about! We are eager to offer assistance in any way we are called on to help those in need. Please email or call if there is something on your heart that you would like us to know about. Email Matthew

  • Dell Elias

    Women's Ministries Leader

Dell Elias was raised in Maryland, graduated from college, and figured she would live there forever until she met Bob! They have been married for 33 years and have lived in Incline for almost 25 years. Their daughters, Julie and Kristen, are the joy of their lives! The first Sunday after moving to Incline found the Elias family at this church -- though that was 4 church names ago! Though their daughters live out of state, the empty nest is never boring with their three golden retrievers.

Dell was raised in a wonderful Christian home, and her parents taught her through their role modeling about service and ministry in church. She is blessed to be a part of women’s ministry. Her prayer is for every woman to find something special in this ministry. Dell believes that God has mighty plans for the women in our church and in our community! Email Dell
